is my new account.

i've become a person at peace with myself. i don't need popularity. i've learned to let my writing define itself - not let popularity define my writing.
it feels so much better, honestly.

so yeah. go visit me if you want. <3

hope all's going well with all of you.

an update.

i just wanted to let everyone know that i'm doing well. i've learned to accept myself. i can look in the mirror and say, hey, you're beautiful, and mean it. and it's one of the most amazing feelings in the world. i hope you know. i hope you understand.

my writing feels more free, although i'm in a block right now. i still have bad days, and bad moods, but overall, i'm getting much better. i'm trying to be my own reason to be okay. trying to be strong for myself.
and i'm trying to need myself.

it's a challenge. but i'm getting there.

i'm not quite ready to reveil my new account and all yet. sorry, guys. but i will eventually, i think. after i'm not afraid of the public opinion changing my own view of myself and my writing. after i'm confident in my own opinion, and after i will put my opinion before the public's - then i will come out of hiding. i hope you understand.

in news that isn't related to me. my best friend, GwenavhyeurAnastasia, is a regional finalist in a 20k scholarship. we'd both appreciate it a lot if you'd go and vote for her - just click www.zinch.com/voting/Regionals… and scroll down to kayley johnson to vote. if you don't have an account on zinch, please, please go ahead and make one to vote. seriously, it'd mean so much to both of us.

i hope all of you are doing well. tell me about what's new in your life, if you'd like. and again, i'm sorry for being gone. but it's what's best for me, you know? and i have to do it. i have to do what makes me happy and okay.

i hope you understand.

She has a crush on a boy in her class, a real trouble maker but who’s always there when she’s down. Stuffed in a drawer at home, is the valentine card she made for him six months in advance, signed ‘secret admirer’. And if her mother doesn’t make a fast turn on the intersection in a few hours, the two of them would’ve made many a blissful memory. But she will, he knows, and Amanda, barely twelve, would never see another sunrise.
The paper tears as he crushes it, throwing it aside; and it falls on top of the slowly growing mound of scraps.
Holding his head in his hands, he mumbles to himself, before picking up the pen again for another try, ignoring the two looking over his shoulders.
“Well he sure isn’t getting anywhere,” she comments; leaning forwards, hand on her hips, to get a better look at the page as he starts anew.
“You can’t expect him

:bulletblue: First place poetry goes to:

 with even god needs an editor.these subtle strings that some
lonely god wove into souls and
       hearts, bones and blood--this is
          his swerving handwriting, curling
across pages of skin and color.
i can see him now, bent over a long desk
sweat collecting in beads along his brow,
glittering in the ethereal candlelight, and he is
writing in DNA, telling new stories:
genetic dramas written in lively ink,
  spilling across the dirt stage:
    some of us are tragedies,
        some of us are comedies,
          and some of us are masterpieces;
